ArTBoX Christmas, Dec '16
It’s that time of the year again. Mulled wine, Christmas songs, decorations and art bazaars mark December as the most festive month of the year. On the second weekend of it, I visited a Christmas market, called ArTBoX where 27 Bulgarian artists participated in presenting their hand-made crafts and goods.
One of the activities included in the program was creating different Christmas decorations, such as gingerbread houses, Christmas fortunes, as well as DYI for children and games with prizes. Now let me present to you some of the talented artists that took part of the venue.
Tina’s handmade accessories are usually made of clay and resign. The final result is pretty Christmas decoration, earrings, necklaces and rings.
Diyana-Petya Delcheva designs handmade pieces of jewelry of glint-glass. The highlight of her art was lovely hand-carved Christmas decoration (on the photos above).
Rossika was another cool stall that was offering wooden accessories, wooden Christmas cards, rustic garlands and different ornaments made of cotton fabric.
Elegant accessories and jewelry from Preporuchano s lyubov (Препоръчано с любов).
Hand-painted tops, shirts, sneakers, shoes, eco bags, as well as jewelry of gemstones and crystals from Pamballa handmade goods.
A not-so-typical brand in the house was WooWhiskey. WooWhiskey is handmade oak cubes that turn your glass of whisky into a true delight. They give it a special oak flavour that one could hardly resist. The concept of this project is to make these cubes your personal accessories and to bring you joy from drinking the strong beverage.
Under the rainbow – hand-painted glass by Tsveti Tsonova. With her painting skills, Tsveti brings the old and useless jars into life again.
Evgenya Boteva artist
In the ArTBoX program, 2 foundations were included – Karin Dom and I can too.
Bistra and Nace from “The magic of Traveling” blog have visited 51 countries so far and recently launched a book. They shared with us stories from some of the places they’ve visited around Christmas. They showed us photos, videos and told us very interesting and funny facts about the customs and traditions around the world. The ArTBoX Christmas program made my Sunday a bit more interesting. Have you visited any Christmas markets already?

DeleteThis looks so lovely and definitely something that will get you in the festive spirit! My grandparents love a glass of whiskey so WooWhuskey things would be perfect gifts for them :) x
ReplyDeleteWooWiskey is one of the most interesting projects I've recently heard about. Definitely a great gift for whiskey lovers.
DeleteSuch a cool event! Nice to see all these crafts. I particularly like the whiskey cubes; I know someone who I could give these to as a Christmas present. I have been to our regular Christmas market and I shall go back again tomorrow. Will do a separate post on that.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read about the Christmas market in Lux!
DeleteThis was interesting to read, and it's always nice to see how different cultures celebrate Christmas. I love goiing to Christmas markets, it's such a big event in my family so I grew up visiting different markets and enjoy it very much. Thanks for sharing, and I think they have a great concept with their book of global explorations./Madison
ReplyDeleteThis is so nice, Madison! Christmas markets became popular in Bulgaria some years ago, so I don't really remember visiting such as a child. Thank you for your comment!
DeleteDear Sany!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the lovely review of the festival! We, the organizers of ArTBoX, are very happy to see that other people were so impressed by our event! Wishing you wonderful holidays!
Dear Yoli, thank you for organizing the ArTBoX Christmas festival! I truly liked it and enjoyed every single minute spent there. Happy holidays!
DeleteWow, thanks so much! We do this with love and dedication and we are so happy that the people can feel it! <3
ReplyDeleteHard work pays off! Thank you too!
DeleteI love these sort of exhibitions where local artists are given the opportunities to showcase their work. My favourite has to be the handmade glass Christmas ornaments. I wonder if the artist has an online shop?

Hi Shireen. I am so happy that you have a favourite :) Yes, here's the artist's blog where she gives details regarding orders:

Hi Sany! :) Sorry that I didn't visit your blog recently, but because of Christmas time, I was busy, because there were so many things to prepare (especially in the kitchen ;)). Backing to the post, ArtBox looks like amazing Christmas market! Personally I'm huge fan of events, where I can buy unique, hand-made things, which in my opinion are always better then the ones, you can buy on the ordinary stores. What's more, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed to visit this place too and thank you for sharing with this post. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a wonderful Christmas time, dear Sany!

I agree. Hand-made goods are always better than anything in the mass stores. Have a great NYE celebration, Ivonne!
DeleteWow so artistic.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
I wish you an amazing NYE and happy New Year, dear Sany!
