One of the most exciting hiking tours in Rila mountains
Чети на български
At the end of October, I went hiking in Rila mountains. The weather was sunny and warm. We were all packed up, and ready to hit the slopes. The plan was to see some of the Seven Rila lakes, but the main idea was to walk the Urdina valley and see the Urdini lakes. Early in the morning, the lift took us to Rila lakes hut and the journey began.
Our first stop was the Fish lake at the altitude of 2,184m. We had some snacks and we took a bunch of photos before we moved on. Our mountain guides Lyuben and Neli made our hike such a pleasure! I was constantly asking questions and they were patiently telling us details about all the places we were passing by.
We continued climbing till we started seeing snow here and there. We did our lunch break at the ridge of Zeleni rid where the view was more than breathtaking. It was time to start going downhill where the Urdini lakes were waiting for us.

Urdina (Ursus lat.) means the valley of bears. And now you would ask are there bears indeed? Yes, there are. Neli even told us that she saw a bear in this area a couple of months ago. Well, we didn't have the luck that day.
The final part of our hike was between the Seven Rila lakes and the valley of Malyovitsa. With night approaching, it got both crazy and exciting but I was feeling safe and secure with our guides at all times.

DeleteHello Sany! Im sure Bulgaria mountains are worth the big effort, how stunning, Im actually truly impressed! The landscapes are mesmerizing and I only wish I was there right now! I see u are very happy and thrilled, looking gorgeous! Have a nice evening Sany, hugs! xo
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Lilli. Bulgarian mountains are heavenly beautiful and they are worth a visit. Thank you for your kind words!
DeleteYou always go on such amazing adventures Sany! Over 9 hours is pretty long for a hike but I'm sure the sights and the sense of accomplishment you must've felt at the end made it all worthwhile. Thank you for sharing your experience and photos with us. The views are splendid!
ReplyDeleteOh, no, you're exaggerating, Rowena :)) I am trying to travel more often to some different places. Thank you for your kind words!
DeleteWhat a wonderful journey it must have been. I think you've captured Otovica beautifully and it does sound like the hike overall was well worth trekking. Have a great rest of the week, Sany. x/Madison
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks. I didn't know that this mount was called Otovica, but thanks to our mountain guides I got to know more about the places we were passing by. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you, Madison!

Clear blue sky and fresh snow is one of my favourite views. Thanks for stopping by Helena!
DeleteHi dear Sany! First of all, I'm amazed on the outstanding views from which you shared with us - trekking in Bulgaria sounds divine :) Personally I have climbed with guide few times in my life, but it was long time ago, when I was at school, but thanks to the fact I could see "Morskie Oko" - lake in Tatry's mountains, which is also hidden high in the mountains. What about Seven Lakes from your post - I'm more than sure that the trip was worth 9-hours of climbing - the scenery looks like from fairy tale :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely evening, dear!

Hi Ivonne! Thank you so much! Yes, trekking in Bulgaria is exciting and the views are breath-taking. Oh, I've been to the Tatry mountains in Slovakia but I want to see the Polish Tatry too. I bet they are worth a visit. :)
DeleteWow! Amazing photos! This place is so wild and so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMountains are the best place in the whole world.

Haha, mountains and the seaside as well. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHoly cow, you hiked for 9 hours?! That's a long time for a hike but when you are treated to such stunning views, I bet you don't feel the time flying by.

Haha, yes, 9 hours. I even couldn't believe I did it, but it's a fact! And it is something I'd do many times.
DeleteWow Sany these photos bring back so many wonderful memories. The one time I went back to Bulgaria I was able to visit the Seven Rila mountains and climb to the top. It was a scenery I would never forget. A place like this makes me catch the plane right now 💓

I am sure you enjoyed your hike to the Seven Rila lakes, Radi. The beauty of this place is endless.
DeleteThe views are stunning! And amazing that there is a layer of snow. I haven't seen any yet for this year.
ReplyDeleteI was so excited to see the snow! Hope that soon there will be enough to go snowboarding/skiing. Otherwise, winter is a boring season.
DeleteI haven't tried anything like this before but the views look breathtaking! 9 hours is a long day so I'm not surprised you were tired out by the end of it but from your photos it looks like it was well worth it :) x
ReplyDeleteYou should try trekking. Sometimes it can be exhausting but it's definitely worth an effort. Thanks for stopping by!
