Musala Peak

In this and my next post, I will share with you the story of an adventure I am proud but will probably never do again. Last Sunday I climbed the highest peak on the Balkans - Musala peak (2925m). It was a challenge for me as I haven't been sports active for some time but it was definitely recharging. A mountain is a place where you not only relax and do sport at the same time but also a place where you and nature become one and your thoughts get together. We got up early, and at 9 a.m. we were already on our way in the cabin lift. First stop was hut Yastrebets (2369m).

Then we headed to the second stop - Musala hut. On our way we saw beautiful flowers and herbs, but also met mountain fellows. One tip from me - if you're going in the mountains, no matter the weather, don't forget your sun protection!

The view was breathtaking. As we were getting higher, the scenery changed from green to rocky. We reached Musala hut and we stopped for a rest.

The story will be continued in the next post. Feel free to leave a comment if you liked it. Have a sunny day everyone!

  1. Hello Sany! What an amazing experience must have been! I wish I did the same, when I was kid I was used to spend my summertime in the mountains (north Italy), now are ages from the last time I saw a scenary like this. Im sure you did an excellent job even if I imagine how challenging must be, but definitely worth. The pics are breathtaking and actually made my day (or eyes:P). Happy Wed to you, many kisses! xo

  10. Can't wait to read what was happened next ;) The views are breathtaking - I'm agree with you, Sany, when you're climbing, you'll surerly amazed by changing landscapes and you workout as well ;) What's more,I love each of your photos, and the last one reminds me the lake from my country, which I have opportunity to see on my own eyes (which btw is also located in mountains, I'm talking about Morskie Oko at Zakopane, you can google it if you want to ;)). And I'd forget about the most important thing - congrats for reaching Musala peak, dear friend :)

  12. Climbing a mountain is always a challenge, but the journey, the view, the air, all in one is a fantastic experience and I like as well. I know a girl from Bucharest who did it too.
