Musala Peak 2

After the break, we headed towards hut Everest, the third stop to the peak. See the first part of this post click.

The path was getting tough and the weather was changing constantly. There was a storm coming in the afternoon so we were in a hurry to avoid it. There were several lakes on our way, all filled with crystal clear but also probably freezing water. There was snow in some places as well.

The final 4th part of climbing the peak was the hardest. There were 2 options we could choose from - to take the longer but easier path or to climb the rocks holding a rope and getting to the peak quicker. We chose the second one and it was scary but lots of fun.

And we finally got there after 2h 30min from the start. People say it takes 4h so we must have been fast! It was tiring and it was windy up there, but I felt like I've conquered Mount Everest. There were people that gave up along the way, because either they thought it was too challenging for them to make it to the top, or they were scared by the weather. We made it and after that, we took the way down where I had the most delicious beer in my life ever, haha. Happy Friday all!

  3. It is really impressive that you were able to get to the peak in just 2 and a half hours if 4 hours is the norm. I can imagine it would be a little tiring but I bet the feeling of victory must've been even better :) The views are absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing this experience with us Stanislava. Happy weekend!

  16. Congrats, dear, because it was amazing achievement! What's more, you had to be pround of yourself, because you did in very quickly and what's the most important - you didn't give up like some other people. I have no doubts why this beer was so delicious, you worked for it, Sany :) Btw, the views from this trip are breathtaking, I love these lakes, which are hidden in mountains :)

  19. Sany, I'm catching up with your blog now. You have so many awesome travel photos! You must have felt really triumphant at not only having conquered the peak but also did it in a much shorter time than the average person. That's really impressive. I love all the views along the way. I would have stopped a lot to take pictures and ended up reaching the peak in 5 hours. The crystal clear water is lulling me towards them but they do look icy cold too.

I hope you have been keeping well!
