Belgrade - Day 1

Here I am with my Belgrade photos and stories. As I did last year and the year before, I celebrated my B-day at a new place. Belgrade is 4-5 hours away from Sofia by car. We arrived in the afternoon, checked in and went for a stroll.

First stop was Skadarska Ulica recommended by the guy at the hotel. A tourist street with lots of authentic restaurants. We chose one we liked and sat down as we were already hungry.

I had a filled "pleskavica".

M. opted for the "Ražnjići".

Then we headed towards the river area.

Look what a nice cafeteria I found on our way!

Spring has already come in Belgrade. These were the first blooming trees I saw this year.

We arrived at the Belgrade Fortress. It is old and large. There is a nice view to New Belgrade city on the other side of the river. Here the two rivers, Sava and Danube, unite.

Next was Knez Mihailova street - the Belgrade main pedestrian street with beautiful buildings, many coffee places, and some shops.

That night we celebrated my birthday at "The Tube" - a funky underground club for electronic music. Maceo Plex, Pan Pot, Solomun are just a few of the names that had played there. We heard one of the most popular Serbian techno DJ's - Marco Nastic.

  1. Morning Sany, hope you had a great celebration in Belgrade and looking at your pics I really think so. Is so nice you celebrated it each year in a new and different place, I should start this tradition as well. Btw, Belgrade is a wonderful city, Id like to travel there soon, have some friends from there, it looks so romantic too. You were beautiful, love the combo of coat+sneakers, comfy and chic at the same time. Waiting for the second part now, have a great week ahead! xo

  15. I must say Belgrade looks amazing, such a clean, appealing city! There are so many things to see there. Oh, and that cat in a cafeteria looks super serious, I suppose this fluffy prettiness is unsatisfied with the slow service;D
The Fortress deserves a special praising, it looks magnificent! Thank you for this virtual trip Stanislava!
    Sending you lots of love!

  21. Еха, супер място, да отпразнуваш рождения си ден! Много красиви снимки. Аз само съм минавала през Белград, но никога не съм се разхождала. Изглежда много хубаво, мисля, че трябва да се посети задължително :))
