3 Days in Italy: A day in Bologna

Arena del Sole

Hi people! Sorry for my long absence. Now it's time for something new on my blog! Last week my mother and I went on a 3-day vacation to Italy. We spent the nights in Bologna, but stayed there only for a day. Our hotel was more like a nice family house and only 10min away from the city center by bus.

Fontana del Nettuno
Asinelli and Garisenda towers

Right after our arrival in Bologna, we had to wait until our accommodation time came, so we went for a cup of cappuccino of course. After that we headed up to the city center for a long walk around, including shopping tour, a slice of pizza and gelato.

Piazza Galvani

The population of Bologna is about 400 000 but it feels like more because of the tourists in the central part of the city. Main square is called Piazza del Nettuno and it has it's monument. A bit further down the street there is another square called Piazza Galvani and close to it are the two towers of Bologna. You can hear stories about two families conquering each other for who would build a higher tower. Unfortunately one of the towers collapsed and thus nowadays it is closed for visitors.

Not only during the day but also during the night the weather was hot. Also, a lot of people ride bicycles instead of using buses or cars, which is great! No matter what's their age or status, although Bologna is said to be one of the very high-standard cities in Italy. Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...
